Greece, Jan 2024. The crew's own report:
"ROUND DIAMOND SHAPE WITH STRAIGHT, NON MANUEVERABLE TAIL"
~434 knots. Seen ONLY on the short-wave IR camera; switch to normal video and it vanishes.
Gulf of Oman, Jun 2024. Different crew, different aircraft:
"GLOWING HOT SPHERICAL OBJECT WITH A VERTICAL UNWAVERING CYLINDRICAL POLE/BAR ATTACHED ON THE BOTTOM"
~140 knots. Crew's verdict: "Benign".
The tell: the tail never swings. Step through frame by frame: whatever the camera does, it points straight DOWN.
That's gravity. A light round body with something hanging under it is the classic balloon + payload silhouette.
And 434 knots? That's a dot timed from a fast jet with no range to it. AARO's GoFast card: the "high-speed" object was really doing 5-92 mph; the speed was "motion parallax". Far, slow things look fast from a moving jet.
Bonus: the dark ring around both isn't a force field š
It's the sensor's sharpening filter overshooting at a bright edge. Similar cameras ā same halo.
AARO still lists both as unresolved. Object or balloon?

Why a far, slow object can look fast
AARO's GoFast resolution: reported "near ocean's surface" at "high speeds"; assessed at about 13,000 ft doing 5-92 mph (p.1). "The object's apparent high speed is attributable to motion parallax." (p.3) The same effect applies to any speed called out from a moving jet without a range.
