Gulf of Oman, 8 Sep 2021. An AC-130 drops a flare in the sea for target practice. On infrared: two "cold orbs", ~4 ft wide, hovering 0-20 ft over the water above the flare. For 15 seconds.
The officer pulls the trigger on the 105mm. The report: in the split second before the recoil, the orbs "rapidly fly away from the flare and out of the sensor feed without changing altitude".
~25 sightings that night. Two orbs weaving "around, over, and under each other in a manner similar to how dolphins playfully swim in a pod". The source's comment: "They knew they were flying together."
Clocked at 250 to 1,300 mph. Then the plane's recorder "inexplicably failed and the video data became corrupted". What survived: 6 clips shot off the cockpit screen with a phone. In one, two orbs cross the screen in 0.3 s.
The science: "cold" in infrared just means colder than what's behind it. Over a warm night sea, a shiny surface reflecting the cold sky reads cold. And speeds from a circling plane's targeting tool hit the same parallax trap as GoFast. Still unresolved.

Two orbs cross the whole screen in about 0.3 seconds
Between 0:14.1 and 0:14.3 two dark blobs streak across the top right as a pair, smeared by their speed. At normal playback you barely see them; step frame by frame. Single orbs are clearest at 0:02.5 and 0:27.5.
