UAP General
Area 51, S-4 and "reverse-engineered UFOs": what the government files actually say

Area 51. S-4. Reverse-engineered alien spacecraft 🛸
We read the government files. The CIA puts Area 51 on paper, and says its own planes WERE the UFOs.
The receipts 🧵 CIA-UAP-003
April 1955: the CIA's U-2 team flies over Nevada and spots "a salt flat known as Groom Lake". Eisenhower approves "this strip of wasteland, known by its map designation as Area 51" (p.69). Nickname: "Paradise Ranch" (p.70).
Then the side effect. U-2s above 60,000 ft caught the sunset and looked like "fiery objects" to airline pilots: "a tremendous increase in reports of unidentified flying objects" (p.85). Blue Book checked U-2 flight logs but "could not reveal" the true cause (p.86).
The CIA's own verdict: "U-2 and later OXCART flights accounted for more than one-half of all UFO reports during the late 1950s and most of the 1960s" (p.86). This history is how the CIA first officially acknowledged Area 51, in 2013.
S-4: in 1989 Bob Lazar said he reverse-engineered alien craft at a base south of Area 51, powered by stable element 115. Element 115 was finally made in 2003; it decays in under a second. No released government file mentions S-4.
AARO's 2024 review: "no evidence that any USG investigation ... has confirmed that any sighting of a UAP represented extraterrestrial technology" (p.7). The reverse-engineering story is "in large part, the result of circular reporting" (p.9).
The real "reverse-engineering program"? KONA BLUE: a proposal to "reverse-engineer any recovered off-world spacecraft that they hoped to acquire" (p.34). DHS "rejected" it "for lacking merit" (p.35). It grew out of AAWSAP, the warp-drive programme.
The famous 1947 "crash metal"? Oak Ridge National Lab tested it: "terrestrial in origin" (p.1). David Grusch says AARO lacked access to the deepest programs; AARO's memo says he "declined" its interview invitations (p.2). You decide.

CIA: U-2 and OXCART flights were over half of all UFO reports
The CIA's history of the U-2 and OXCART programmes. April 1955: "a salt flat known as Groom Lake"; Eisenhower approved "this strip of wasteland, known by its map designation as Area 51" (p.69); "Paradise Ranch" (p.70). "High-altitude testing of the U-2 soon led to an unexpected side effect - a tremendous increase in reports of unidentified flying objects (UFOs)" (p.85). Blue Book checked sightings against U-2 flight logs; investigators "could not reveal to the letter writers the true cause"; "U-2 and later OXCART flights accounted for more than one-half of all UFO reports during the late 1950s and most of the 1960s" (p.86). This 2013 release was the CIA's first official acknowledgment of Area 51.

AARO 2024: no evidence of reverse-engineered alien tech
"AARO found no evidence that any USG investigation, academic-sponsored research, or official review panel has confirmed that any sighting of a UAP represented extraterrestrial technology" (p.7). "the inaccurate claim that the USG is reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology and is hiding it from Congress is, in large part, the result of circular reporting from a group of individuals who believe this to be the case" (p.9). KONA BLUE would "reverse-engineer any recovered off-world spacecraft that they hoped to acquire" (p.34) and "was eventually rejected by DHS leadership for lacking merit" (p.35).

KONA BLUE: "never approved or formally established"
Interviewees described KONA BLUE as a DHS compartment protecting the retrieval of "non-human biologics". AARO: it "was a Prospective Special Access Program (PSAP) that had been proposed to DHS leadership but was never approved or formally established" and "never received any" materials (p.1).

The "1947 crash metal": Oak Ridge says terrestrial
A magnesium alloy specimen "publicly alleged to be a component recovered from a crashed extraterrestrial vehicle in 1947", supposedly a terahertz waveguide for antigravity. "ORNL assessed this specimen to be terrestrial in origin and that it does not meet the theoretical requirements to function as a terahertz (THz) waveguide"; consistent with Mg alloy research and development (p.1).

AARO's memo: David Grusch "declined" to be interviewed
AARO's invitations to interview Grusch "regarding his claimed knowledge of U.S. Government possession of extra-terrestrial material and reverse-engineering programs were met with negative results" (p.1). Offered a SCIF meeting, "Mr. Grusch, again, declined the invitation despite previously agreeing to an interview" (p.2). Grusch's side: AARO lacked access to the most sensitive programs.

AARO director to the Senate, Nov 2024
"to date, AARO has discovered no verifiable evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity, or technology" (p.2).
